Creat l’any 2004 a partir de les infraestructures i dels investigadors i docents de la Facultat de Medicina de la UdL i dels hospitals públics de Lleida (l’Universitari Arnau de Vilanova i el de Santa Maria de Lleida) s’ha consolidat com un espai de referència en la recerca biomèdica.
Els investigadors de l’IRB Lleida participen en diverses xarxes d’investigació nacionals i internacionals, amb una elevada producció d’articles científics de repercussió internacional.

The Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) was born in 2004 with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Catalan Health Institute (ICS), the Dr Pifarré Foundation and the University of Lleida (UdL). It is integrated by biomedical research groups from the region of Lleida, more specifically from the UdL and the health system. The groups cover all three aspects of biomedical search: the basic, translational and the clinical epidemiological research.
